Life After LHS – Forum on Returning College Students, Their Experiences and Advice to Current LHS Parents and Students
Location: IDLC/ Science Lecture Hall
Date: Wednesday, January 3rd 2018
Time: 6:30 to 8:30 pm

High school is considered a gateway to the future. Come and hear how these college or gap year students have seized new opportunities and learn how LHS prepared them for different paths. Our panel will consist of former LHS students attending different types of colleges, playing sports, joining music groups and taking gap years. This forum is perfect for juniors and seniors, though all are welcome.  We would like to encourage parents and guardians to bring their students to this event.

Email Forums@lhspto.org for any questions about the event and please bring your questions along for the panelists.

CARY LECTURE SERIES: “Coming to America, Then and Now”
Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017    8:00 – 9:30pm
Free and open to the public. A great opportunity for high school students to learn more about immigrant stories!

America has always been a nation of immigrants, but how has the immigrant experience changed over the past fifty years? How can we as a community engage in honest and effective dialogue about the enrichment and estrangement inherent in living in a town with such a breadth of cultural backgrounds? Our panelists of Chinese, German, Indian, Iranian, Japanese, Korean, and Russian heritage will speak to their experience of assimilation, with the goal of showing the many commonalities across all cultures, and how we can learn from one another’s challenges and successes. Author Marjan Kamali (Lexington resident) will moderate the panel featuring area residents Sunny Chandra, Tatyana Finkelstein, Larry Ho, Susie Lee-Snell, Heidi Singh, and Margie Yamamoto.

Active Bystander Training on December 17

Active Bystander Training helps us learn when and how to intervene when we witness harm-doing. This training is appropriate for adults, high schoolers, and motivated middle schoolers.

Don't Miss Out - Register for Boys & Girls Spring Lacrosse Now!

There are 3 things you should know about the sport of LACROSSE:

1. LACROSSE is known as the “Fastest Sport on Two Feet”
2. LACROSSE is the fastest growing sport in the US
3. Registration for spring LACROSSE is only open for a few more weeks at www.lexingtonlax.org

Lexington Youth Lacrosse is open to all skill levels, has both a boy’s and girl’s program, and is organized into divisions by age: Grade 1, Grade 2, Under 11 (3rd & 4th) , Under 13 (5th & 6th), and Under 15 (7th & 8th).

Our program is dedicated to introducing, teaching, and expanding youth lacrosse through our integrated and age based programs, which provide a fun, competitive, and instructional environment.

Lacrosse is complementary to soccer, hockey, and basketball, as it is a continuous-play team sport that reinforces and advances common offensive and defensive concepts.

Too often we hear parents say they don’t know the sport so they never introduced it to their children. You don’t have to know the sport – that’s what Lexington Youth Lacrosse is here for!
