The Lexington High School PTO and FOLMADS (Friends of Lexington Music, Art and Drama Students) are pleased to present a special forum featuring a discussion of opportunities in performing and visual arts at Lexington High School.  The program will begin with a short performance by the LHS Jazz Combo, followed by a presentation by Dr. Ida Pappas, LPS K-12 Performing Arts Coordinator.  Dr. Pappas will introduce new classes being offered at LHS for the 2018-2019 school year and will cover topics related to the performing arts curriculum.  Following the presentation, FOLMADS parent volunteers familiar with programs in music, drama, and visual arts will be on hand to share their perspectives during a question and answer session.  The program is open to all LPS families.  Parents of 8th grade and transfer students are especially encouraged to attend.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL ADDICTION – Dangers Hidden in Plain Sight with Prevention

What do you do when your teen calls you at 1AM with a challenging situation?  How do parents and guardians help their teens expand their freedom, have fun with friends and yet stay safe?  What are social hosting laws and how are parents at risk if something happens on your watch?  Come to this important session led by Lexington Public Schools Prevention Specialist, Kristie Demirev.  The “Hidden in Plain Sight” room will be on display to help parents learn to look for clues to determine if your child is experimenting with alcohol or drugs.  This will be an interactive session. All are welcome.
